Rooted – a poem (Brave Every Day)

treeA stalwart tree does not move
It cannot flit about
driven by mood or manner
It remains
Deeply rooted
in streams of grace
Its leaves ever turned upward

It cannot escape the elements
It doesn’t even try

The wind
The storm
The heat
The winter
The dropping of leaves
The birthing of new

It remains

    Beautiful poem.

I have often contemplated the multitude of trees that surround my home. At their sturdiness through the seasons, at their longevity. They also speak to me something about standing tall…

    • Yes, Sharon. Sturdy through the seasons. May that be true of me as well.
