Five Minute Friday: Relevant
Why do we seem so surprised that people change? That one generation is different from the next. In style. In words. In technology. In the business world, especially in marketing circles, we talk about making sure we’re staying relevant to the way people shop. The way they make decisions. Why they buy. What does the next generation want & need. We worry about Facebook and Search Engine Optimization and running the risk of being passed by if we don’t stay in constant motion. Changing to stay relevant.
Frankly, it’s exhausting.
Oh, how grateful I am that HE is the same. Yesterday. Today. Forever. And still ALWAYS relevant. Maybe people really don’t change as much as we think they do. They still long to be accepted. They long to be loved. They want to be heard. Noticed. Made to feel important. THEY WANT TO MATTER!
Methods change. Motivations don’t.
So the most Relevant thing I can think to say today was first said thousands of years ago. “Tell them, ‘I AM has sent me to you. The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever.'” (Exodus 3: 14-15)
In this there is SO MUCH freedom! Not to Be Relevant. Be Real. Be Acceptable. Be X, Y or Z.
But Just to Be Beth!
