Even When the Sun is Hiding
But today the sun is masked by the clouds.
And still they face, in unison, towards where they know the sun should be. East in the morning. West on the drive home.
Even when the sun is hiding, they know were to look.
It reminds me of the words of Habakkuk, the prophet who complains to God that he can neither see nor understanding what God is doing…
“Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.”
I will face the Son.
Even when I can’t see Him clearly.
