Could I be That Dedicated?
Swimmers, for example, who have put in thousands of hours in a pool for a chance to be the best in a race that lasts less than 1 minute. Gymnasts who made their country’s team for the sole purpose of doing one single vault.
The training. The sacrifice. The travel. The missed families. The missed childhoods.
And we hear from them time and again that it was all worth it. For the medal winners perhaps I can reconcile that. But even many of the rest talk about the sheer joy of the experience, the honor, the privilege.
Makes me wonder. What am I that dedicated to?
