What can a Life Coach help you with??

·                     Lack of direction and not knowing what to do in life
·                     Career Change – want to be sure it’s the right choice?
·                     Finding meaning and purpose

·                     Lack of balance between work and home life

·                     Prioritizing projects/work – do you procrastinate?
·                     Self Confidence and Self Esteem
·                     Feeling disconnected spiritually
·                     Struggling to Reach a Goal (physical, mental, relational, etc…)
·                     Urgent situations involving risks or challenges
·                     Dealing with stress, lack of motivation, and other barriers to happiness
·                     Increasing your gratitude for everyday life
Talking to a life coach will:
·                     Help you focus on positive action and achievement
·                     Stimulate, motivate, and empower you
·                     Help you overcome limiting beliefs
·                     Give you support and create structure
·                     Make you accountable for your decisions
·                     Help you achieve much more than you would on your own
Now doesn’t that sound better than a cup of coffee??

Beat Inertia by Moving Faster

Science is not my thing. Forgive me if inertia has nothing to do with speed. But here’s the principle.

Objects at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon. And acting quickly generates enough momentum to move farther and higher. So when it’s time to act, speed is your friend. Thinking can be good. Stalling hardly ever is.

If I were a scientific soul, I might do a survey, and I suspect I would find that we talk ourselves OUT of things more often than we talk ourselves INTO them. Time, my friend, is not always on your side.

For example, I decided on my drive home that I wanted to get on the treadmill tonight. So as quickly as I could upon arriving home, I put on my workout clothes and running shoes, and got that baby fired up. No time to get distracted. No time to find excuses. Act and act quickly.

Book Review: Healing is a Choice

There is always a choice. The choice to give up or keep going. The choice to complain about a situation or change it. The choice to have faith or try to do it all on your own. In Healing is a Choice, author Stephen Arterburn presents 10 Lies that we tend to believe and the 10 Choices that can change everything! For example… Big Lie: “I must protect myself from any more pain” is really a CHOICE to live in predictability rather than leaping in faith and Chosing to Risk. Simple concepts. Powerful distinctions.

This revised and updated edition includes a full workbook within the context of each chapter. Unlike many guides that get hidden away in the back, this format encourages — nearly forces — the reader to consider the personal application of each choice. I applaud that choice since it useful for both group and personal study and it provides the immediate tools to examine the choices I make based on these lies. It’s not a simple or comfortable process, but healing means cleaning wounds, and this book is poised to be a wonderful, though sometimes painful, cleanser for those willing  to Choose healing.

This is one of those books you are likely to return to again and again, for one section or another, as life throws various forms of pain and suffering your direction. It is one I will keep on my shelf as a ready reference for a long time.
